Jordan + Julian

Jordan + Julian have that timeless, effortless love. You can physically see them melt when in each other’s presence, so it was no surprise that their gallery is full of beautiful eye squinty smiles buried in one another’s faces. As a photographer, I had to provide minimal direction because they just wanted to be close. At one point I even caught them making out in the reception tent before guests had arrived.

Jordan + Julian were married in the church that Jordan grew up in, her brother the officiant, and then celebrated the rest of the day in her parent’s backyard. It was simple and elegant, and the weather was perfect, ending the evening with an even golden light that provided stunning cloud reflection on the lake.

Thankfully these guys were both adventurous and had no problem laying across the dock, dangerously close to goose poop, or running through the soggy fields at sunset. Congratulations to you both, thank you for sharing all of your smiles and laughs with me.

Scott + Erica

Scott + Erica

These guys got married at the McGregor Memorial Center on Wayne State’s campus in Detroit. One of my bucket list venues and it did not disappoint. Every last detail perfectly complemented the next. This day produced some of the most beautiful words I have witnessed come out of any wedding. Between Scott + Erica’s written vows and speeches shared by family members and the bride and groom themselves, there was no shortage of laughter and tears to celebrate this beautiful couple.

Congratulations to you both.

Matt + Lauren

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Matt + Lauren for some time. Not as long as they’ve known each other, but I think we’ve been friends for almost ten years. I was there the night that they got engaged and even got to snap a few snowy celebratory pictures, so this was a highly anticipated wedding day for me.

Lauren + Matt have been together since high school, since they were seventeen, so I can assume that it was a high anticipated day for many. Their family and friends made that pretty clear throughout the ceremony and reception speeches. I actually asked Matt at one point during portraits what his teenager self was thinking, looking at Lauren over a decade after their first date. And I think he responded with something along the lines of “Holy shit, this is real life.”

Congratulations to you both!
