Alex + Josephine, Savannah

Alex and Josephine share a timeless love story. They had met through work, but spend the first several years of their relationship living in different countries. Instead of divulging in modern communication forms such as texting or video calls, they conversed solely through written love letters for an entire year. Between travels and short visits, their connection solidified with pen and paper.

They had decided to host their wedding and worldly guests in Savannah, Georgia after being inspired by one of their weekend getaways. One of my favorite parts of their day was that they set aside an entire hour following the ceremony to just spend with each other. They left their family and friends and quietly absorbed all of the emotion together. And the rain was the perfect addition to their romantic love story.

Congratulations Alex + Josephine, thank you for the opportunity to preserve these perfect moments with you both.

Izak + Sarah, Chicago

Izak + Sarah contacted me to photograph their Chicago wedding just a few months back. They wanted a small and intimate ceremony in a city that they loved and traveled to often.

One of Izak + Sarah’s first dates was at a small bar in Howell, Michigan. They began to frequent that bar and befriended the beloved bartender, Manny. Mondays were actually named, “Manny’s Monday’s” and Izak + Sarah would join in for the event each and every week. They told me this story when we first chatted, and also shared that their officiant would be Manny himself!

These guys were truly one of the most excited couples I have had the opportunity to work with. They wore the biggest contagious smiles. After the ceremony we watched the sunset over the city next to Lake Michigan and the city lights illuminate the sky. Thank you for bringing me to Chicago, Congratulations!

Anthony + Amanda

Anthony + Amanda’s wedding day just oozes style and affection. Not only does this couple have incredible taste, but they also share a beautiful love and connection that is evident in these images. Their wedding took place in early March in Michigan, which is typically not a beautiful time of year to be getting married in the midwest, but with their planning and some afternoon sunshine, you never cared to know what it was like outside.

The best part about The Cheney Place in Grand Rapids, Michigan is that they have done so much of the decorating and design for you. This old furniture warehouse is just full of charm and perfect light. Amanda wanted to keep her decor simple because she knew that the venue had so much to offer with their unique lighting pieces, furniture set ups and amazing wallpaper variety.

Definitely my favorite moment of the day (and of many wedding days) was the first look. Anthony turned around and immediately embraced Amanda. When he took a step back to look at her he grabs her hand and says “You are all of my dreams come true.” Throughout the day the couple continuously expressed their gratitude. They just couldn’t believe how perfect all of their hard work and planning had turned out to be. Congratulations to you both!
